Hey, I’m Sarah.
More about me? Umm... I’m into a lot of things—mainly outdoorsy things, like camping, biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, etc. Oh and motorcycles! I’ve always been a tomboy, thankfully I married a guy (almost 6 years ago!) who’s into all the same kind of stuff as me! My husband’s name is Josh, and he’s my favorite. We’re big nature and animal lovers. We’ve got 3 dogs and a cat. • Q. Favorite song you’ve released? • A. Favorite song I’ve released so far is probably ‘How Could I Lose You’. On tour this fall, I always introduced this song by talking about how hard it is to ‘love one another’. This song is the most personal, talking about happy memories, complications in relationships, and my apologies to folks I’ve really cared for but am now kinda estranged from. It’s an upbeat song, but the idea’s a bit of a bummer, right? I wrote it like that on purpose. It’s what felt right, and I find it conveys how life just keeps going regardless, a sense of taking it all in stride, ya know? I wish that I could stay close with everyone I ever cared for— I’ve known some amazing people—but that’s just not how things work I guess. • Q. When did you start pursuing music? • A. I’ve been a musician of sorts most of my life. Started singing in church at 4 years old and picked up some instruments along the way, went to school for music for a couple years. I’ve always done stuff with it. • Q. What’s your favorite verse at the moment? • A. I’m not sure I actually have a ‘favorite’ scripture, but I am recurrently caught up in John 1. I love to read the gospel of John, and the highlights of the story the writer’s about to tell are written so beautifully in that first chapter. Oh also, if you haven’t lately, checkout Matthew 5-7. The stuff Jesus says about how to live in these passages was and is world changing! • Q. Who / what inspires you the most? • A. I find inspiration all over the place! I write most freely in nature. I’m inspired by stories, people, emotions, observations—generally, it’s my mind’s analysis of a person, thing, or situation that gets the ball rolling. A lot of what I write is like an attempt to describe or explain hard to explain things I guess. ........... Thank you so much for reading!! My name is Robin Damron II (pronounced "the 2nd"), I'm a music artist from Ohio. • Q:What is your favorite song you've released & why? • A: My favorite song would probably be "Guard Your Heart". I was listening to "Good Life" by The Young Escape and "Before You" by Landry Cantrell, I wanted to produce music with similar vibes to these tracks. As far as the lyrics, I wanted to make a song that had a message about guarding what you allow to come in and out of your heart, based on Proverbs 4:23-27. This is similar to the lyrical message of a song 1GN released in 2016. I feel my song offers a different point of view though, as theirs seemed primarily focused on a female perspective and this is a message that everyone can benefit from, so I wanted to provide my take on the subject. • Q: When did you start pursuing music ? • A: I think I was about 12 when I decided I wanted to be in a boy band, eventually me and a couple of guys started our own local group we called Zeroed In, but we never released any music publicly. Afterwards I changed my focus to making my own solo music, I started writing music and producing beats on my PlayStation, and I made a cd for my girlfriend (now my wife) of love songs that I wrote for her. After we got married, I put some money into a small bedroom studio and released my first public song "Supernova" in 2015. • Q: What's your favorite Bible verse/ verses ? • A: I love the Bible and picking a favorite verse is hard. But when I read this, Romans 12:1 is the verse that came to mind "Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship." This verse is also special to me because, my wife and I were once part of the drama team at church and our name was "Living Sacrifice", this was our teams verse. • Q: What / who inspires you to write music? • A:The hope that I have in Jesus Christ inspires me to write music. Without that hope, this life is hopeless and not worth living. My desire is to share that hope with nonbelievers and to share Biblical wisdom with those who do believe. When I'm writing lyrics for a song, I try to make sure to reference the Bible often and I even include those references on my lyric sheets, so the listener can also find the same references that inspired the lyrics. • Q: What can we expect from you / your music in the future? • A: I would like to work with other artists more this year, both featuring them on my music and being featured on theirs as well. I've been reaching out to musicians trying to get those lined up. Thank you so much for reading & thank you Robin for letting me interview you!! If you made it this far down go check out his music linked below !! Enjoy I'm @jonnieboypics, my name is Jon. I'm finishing high school and I enjoy music, photography and videography.
• Q:In what way do you feel you use your photography for the glory of God ? • A: I want to take pictures that capture the beauty, mystery and wonder of life on Earth. I belive God created earth and we can feel His presence in some amazing things that He has created on Earth for us. • Q: What are some of your favorite things to take pictures of and why ? • A: I love to take pictures of people. I believe because God made us, we are all unique. I belive that everyone is so beautiful, I want to somehow show people who don’t think they are "good looking" just how much of a miracle they really are. I like to be creative and take random photos that make people just stop and pause in such a busy lifestyle, and maybe breathe a bit. • Q: What inspires you the most ? • A: I’m really inspired by music and my friends. I constantly want to find new friends that are more experianced than I am. It challenges me to grow and be more disciplined in what I do. Also, people who don't really have much but really work for all their accomplishments... and then achieve something great. I think talents are great, but if you don’t hone in your craft and work hard, you can kinda lose those talents. • Thanks for reading!! When someone you love dies, there are so many feelings to feel - shocked, angry, heartbroken, confused, and empty. When I lost my cousin last year all those emotions and many more were running circles inside my head, and they still do. God, why did you do this? I know you can heal people who are past the point of recovery, but why did you let her die?Why did you let her go? I was heartbroken, instead of a wedding we had a funeral. I was empty, my long time friend and role model was gone, I find myself reaching for my phone to text her for advice and then realizing that she won’t answer. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away”. (Revelation 21:4) But instead of turning away from God, I was drawn closer to Him, instead of being angry and shutting Him out like I thought I would, I longed for His presence and His comfort; I wanted to be filled with Him. Even though my relationship with Christ had become so strong, I still ached. I didn’t talk to many people, I kept it in. When I tried to talk about I always ended up crying, but it’s okay to cry “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” Matthew 5:4 The Lord has a plan for everyone and everything in His own time, He knows when to heal and when to bring them home. He gives and takes away. He has the map of every single person’s life, some people might go home sooner then others because Jesus is ready for them, they fulfilled their purpose. God is always for you, He wants you to be near to Him, so welcome Him with open arms because He wants to listen to your pain and He wants to comfort you. Run to Him because He is running after you. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Rom. 15:13 ❤️ Emma Thank you so much Emma for sharing your story and testimony! I pray that it blesses everyone who reads it 💙 -liv
My name is Daniel Thompson AKA GeoVoc. I'm 18 years old and I'm from Maryland.
-part 2 > Q: What / who inspires you ? A: What and who inspires my music is practically everyone and every kind of music. I pretty much like it all. Which can be hard sometimes cause I want to release music in all genres but I don't want to confuse people too. I do have some artists that are favorites but I love so much music that it's hard to narrow it to per se one or 2 artists. Some artists that greatly inspire me though are owl city. Adam young is a musical genius that hasn't let fame effect how he lives and what he stands for. He Does what he loves for who he loves. And not only is he a phenomenal guitarist, pianist, vocalist and drummer but he's also an insane audio engineer(something which I hope to aspire to in time). I really love his side projects like sky sailing and Adam young scores as well. Steven Curtis Chapman is another artist that has had a huge impact on my music. I especially love his early projects from the late 80s-90s like first hand, more to this life and for the sake of the call(I love most of his music). But I grew up listening to a bunch of his music and going to events for show hope which is his orphan care organization. So I met him and his family a few times which was cool and his sons band colony house is another huge inspiration of mine. I really love his re creation album as well because I've always loved folk music a bunch (especially some older artists from the 70s like John Denver, Jim Croce, etc). One of the most inspirational rock bands for me is Alter Bridge. They aren't a Christian band but there lyric creativity, vocals, arrangements and guitar work is phenomenal! And 3 of the members are previous members of Creed which was also a big musical inspiration for me. My favorite old rock band is petra. Especially their Beyond Belief album. I've listened to that album so much😂 and beyond belief is my favorite song and album of all time even though I love a bunch of other music. It's so nostalgic to me and has had such a huge impact on me. It's kind of cheesy but it just brings back so many great memories and I just love it. Another old artist that has a huge impact on me is Keith Green. More lyrically then anything. His passion for Jesus is so contagious and he really helped me grow in my faith. My biggest electronic inspiration is the chainsmokers. Again not a Christian band. But musically i really love their stuff. Especially something just like this. It's my favorite song of 2017 and it's just awesome to me. I played it so much😂 I'd listen to it on loop for 2 hours straight sometimes. And their new album for the most part I love musically even though I don't like all their lyrics. (A few other big electronic inspirations for me are Gawvi, Martin Garrix, breathe Carolina, and Zedd). (Zedd was actually one of the first artists that inspired me to write electronic music) In terms of CHH Canon and NF are my 2 favorite. NF's album therapy session helped me through a very tough time in my life as well as canons take it all away. I really love canons recent album and I've been listening to both of these artists before they got big. I used to listen to good to go by Canon all the time and I wanted to be like him😂 but I know that's not gonna happen even though I'd love to work with him at some point. I love the melodic bell sounds he uses in a bunch of his music. I'm a big fan of classical and epic music so NFs combination of that sound with trap beats is super cool to me. Lastly which might come as a surprise to people is I really love metalcore😂 Fit for a King is my favorite metalcore band and For Today is another huge inspirations in this genre. Both have very good lyrics (especially for today) and the guitar work and break downs is so awesome to me. Another thing is Fit for a King's drummer is one of the best drummers I've ever heard. Especially at the drop in their song shadows and echoes. The way he does the double kick and slows the tempo is insane to me And would be awesome to learn to do in the future. (Another inspiration to me in this genre is Miss May I). • Q: what can we expect from you in the future? A: For the future and music of mine and what to expect. Expect a bunch and a bunch of different genres released. I'm working on a few EPs. One synthwave and synthpopish. Sort of like coldplay or U2 but slightly more electronic like timecop1983 and Player One. I'm also working on a rap and hip-hop album with more a trap type sound. And then of course like edm and the electronic genre of music EP and singles. I may release a soundtrack EP(not sure if under GeoVoc or not). I also have a few remixes And covers I'm hoping to release and might be releasing a rock/metal EP and folk EP as well. Really what time allows and where my inspirations are heading and all. I'm definitely hoping to release a bunch though if time and financially I can do it. -GoeVoc HEY THERE IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR DOWN GO CHECK GEOVOC’S MUSIC CLICK THE LINK BELOW ✨ My name is Daniel Thompson AKA GeoVoc. I'm 18 years old and I'm from Maryland. • Q: what is your favorite song you’ve released and why ? A: My favorite song that i've released is a tough one. I'd probably say one of my newer tracks (Faithful or please probably). Faithful I really love how totally different it turned out from the original. It was pretty much the shell of the track(the leads, bass and drums for like the prechorus and drop) and I sent that over to Robin Damron II who only had vocals for the first part and then I took what he sent and made the vocal chop parts throughout and I made pretty much the whole 2nd verse/break, after what he sent and all. .... Please I really like because it was crazy how fast it came together. I wrote the music for it really late at night and finished it in like 2 hours and then the next day I did one take on the vocals and ended up keeping them. So it was cool how quick it came together but also with both of these tracks musically it was cool how i ended up writing a song similar to stuff I was listening to at the time. For example I was listening to a lot of Matthew Parker when I wrote faithful and I was listening To capital kings love is on our side, San holo lights, and a lot of Marshemellow music when I wrote please. And I didn't think when I wrote these songs that I was going to try and write a song in that style. It just happened. And It's always really awesome when God does that through you. Lyrically these are also favorites to me. I love writing lyrics that are convicting yet encouraging. I've always had a love for older ccm from like the late 70s-90s especially. And mostly due to their lyric content and passion for Jesus. They had worship songs but they also had songs that really convicted and you knew Christ really was their focus. Not CD sales, fans, or how much they made. They were zealous for Christ and that's something that I truly admire. Not that any modern artists Aren't that way. There are many. And I'm not trying to ellavate them above anyone or make them sound better then they were but I know in my own life they've greatly influenced me and God really used them at a time in my life to draw near to Him. • Q: when did you start pursuing music ? A: I started pursuing music when I was really young. Back when I was really young rock, hard rock and metal were my favorite genres of music(a lot of old christian rock bands like petra, white heart, white cross, guardian, etc) but also what was more modern at that time like kutless, alter bridge, creed and more. I started writing lyrics on sheets of notebook paper with tunes in my head and had a composition notebook where I had them all(wish I still had it lol) but then at 6 I started messing Around on piano and that's how I really started to play piano and improve and all. I took a few lessons and was part of a few events involving piano playing but I mostly did and learned on my own. And then when I was 10 I woke up one Saturday in late September and I was like I wanna learn how to play guitar. So I went into my basement with a small video my parents had gotten me as a gift. It was Steven Curtis Chapman's father (Herb Chapman Sr) teaching some basic chords and my first song was He's got the whole world in his hands which was 2 chords (D and A7) and then I started learning more chords from chord books my dad had and then I started doing some fingerstyle stuff and I started to progress from then. I also traded my oldest brother a work bench I had for his electric guitar and amp and then from then I started to learn electric guitar and all the cool tricks with it(mostly in the genre of rock and metal). My parents were really supportive of me and every Christmas or Birthday I'd get new effects for my guitar or new equipment and it'd be a little at a time and then I started to grow in what I new and could play and what I had. And then lastly about 3 years ago is when I was introduced by a good friend of mine(Jeremy Harvey-a phenomal pianist and composer) about recording equipment and music distribution. He helped me with getting a laptop, interface, Mic and DAW and setting things up to record and all. It was expensive at first cause I only had my money That I had saved up from when I was younger(and later found I could get the same quality out of cheaper things thanks to the recording revolution and it's founder Graham Cochrane). So I started interchanging some things to save money and show other artists and musicians that you don't need expensive equipment to make good quality music. When I started with this new equipment I actually released 2 classical/soundtrack/instrumental albums(which can be found on my bandcamp). The quality wasn't necessarily the best but I learned through it a lot and my friend was there to help me. So I started with that but then around then is when I started to gain a small interest in electronic music and I started by just using the loops that come with logic pro X and layering them and writing progressions and then as time went on I slowly Started to write my own licks and sections with synths I found in logic. And they weren't the best but it was all a learning step and from there I learned how to make the music I write today whether it be electronic or rap. • Q: what’s your favorite bible verse / verses? A: My favorite Bible verse is John 3:30 KJV- He must Increase, but I Must decrease. As an artist this can be hard to remember especially once you start to gain traction for your music. You can easily lose focus and think you did everything and lyrically remove Christ and his words and moral instructions from your songs(not that love songs or songs that aren't necessarily Christian are wrong) but if you stop sharing Christ completely through your songs in the end it's really of little value. What's Done for Christ will last forever. And as an artist it's important to remember I'm just A tool. Christ is working through me. It shouldn't be me using Christ as a front to gain more followers and to be accepted by a community(christians). My number 1 goal should always be to honor Jesus. And that can be hard sometimes but it's worth it. God can elevate any one and he can humble anyone. If we aren't humble God will humble us. - GeoVoc IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR DOWN GO CHECK OUT HIS MUSIC!! ALL MUSIC PLATFORMS ARE LINKED BELOW
Hey guys! My name is Micah Ariss and I’m a recording artist/producer from Washington State. • Q: What's your favorite song you've released? Why ? A:I’d have to say my favorite song I’ve released so far is my cover of “Mary Did You Know”. It’s such a beautiful song and it was a lot of fun to put a new spin on such a classic tune. Also it’s being received very well on both Apple Music and Spotify which I’m extremely grateful for. • Q: When did you start pursuing music? A: I don’t think I really pursued music actually. I feel like it pursued me since I was young. At age 5 I was taking piano lessons but it didn’t take because I didn’t like playing other people’s music. So I quit that and switched over to playing guitar till about age 13 when I picked up piano again as well as drums, bass, and I started singing. It’s always just felt like what I was supposed to be doing with my life. I believe it’s a God thing for sure. • Q: What is your favorite bible verse / verses ? A: As to a favorite bible verse I don’t think I have one. But I will say I love the book of proverbs. It’s very to the point and there is so much knowledge packed into each chapter which really fits well with my learning style. I’ll be honest I’m no where near where I want to be when it comes to being a student of the Bible. But every day it’s that choice to stop and pray and invest that time into that relationship which is part of maturing as an person and believer. And honestly I hope I’m never satisfied with where I’m at in my relationship with Christ. Because that’s a scary place to be. • Q: what / who is your biggest inspiration for your music ?? A: This last question is easy. My friends and family inspire me to make music. I see their struggles, their pain, their joy, there smiles, and their stories. And that inspires me to write every day. I will say though that what’s inspiring me the most right now is my fiancé Emily. Being engaged to her and thinking about the future definitely sparks my inspiration to write songs. I have a song coming out in the future called “from the start” which is written about her. Be sure to look out for that. • ( a message from Micah ) Thank you Olivia for reaching out and I hope that you and your readers have a great day. Last thing I want to say though is this. Life is crazy hard... The pain can become unbearable and many of us just want it to stop no matter what the cost. I encourage you guys to reach out to Jesus with your hurt, pain, larger than life problems. Because that’s where you will find relief and healing. Never give up Thanks again Olivia -Micah Ariss ( song link below ) |
